Ian Hunter will perform a set with Joe Elliott and the Down n' Outz at the High Voltage Festival in London on 25 Jul 2010. (Initial reports indicated that Mott The Hoople would play the festival, and adverts indicating this were even publioshed in magzines and newspapers.)

Verden Allen has a new band called Soft Ground, and they debut at the Night Owl Club in Cheltenham on 13 Aug 2010. On 20/21 Aug 2010, they will play the Wyeside Festival in Hereford UK.

Ian Hunter got up onstage with Alejandro Escovedo at the City Winery in New York on 29 June, singing a duet with Alejandro on 'I Wish I Was Your Mother'. The show was broadcast by WFUV radio.

Ian Hunter and the Rant Band have announced a UK tour in October 2010. The dates include 02 Oct at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester England; 03 Oct at The Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow Scotland; 05 Oct at Komedia, Brighton England; 08 Oct at The Stables, Wavendon England; 10 Oct at Union Chapel, London England (Special Acoustic Evening); 11 Oct at The Journal Tyne Theatre, Newcastle England; 12 Oct at Town Hall, Birmingham England; and 14 Oct at 02 Academy, Bristol England.

Three of the recent UK concerts by Bad Company were recorded and made available on the night by the Concerts Live service. Bad Company have announced that the CD releases have been extended to make them availabel to more fans. These releases are all three-disc deluxe digipak collectors sets: 01 Apr 2010 Birmingham; 02 Apr 2010 Manchester; 11 Apr 2010 Wembley Arena.

Ian Hunter makes a guest appearance on the new CD by Alejandro Escovedo called Street Songs Of Love, which is set to be issued on 20 Sep 2010. Ian contributes vocals to the track 'Down In The Bowery' on the album.

Ian Hunter makes a guest appearance on the new CD by Christine Ohlman and Rebel Montez called The Deep End. Ian sings duet vocals with Christine on the opening track, 'There Ain't No Cure'. Christine previously contributed vocals to Ian's Shrunken Heads album.

Ian played two dates in June 2010 as the support act for Jethro Tull: Mizner Park Amphitheater, Boca Raton FL (4 June) and Chastain Park Amphitheatre, Atlanta GA (6 June). These were 45 minute sets.

The previously-announced Bad Company live DVD, Hard Rock Live, was finally released in Feb 2010. It features a live DVD and bonus CD, and was recorded at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida on 8 Aug 2008.

These included three gigs at the City Winery in New York City (Apr 21, 23, 24); The Sellersville Theater in Sellersville PA (Apr 25), and gigs in Leicester (29 Apr), Edinburgh (1 May), London (2 May), Roma (4 May - canceled), Milano (5 May), Stockholm (07 May), and Helsinki (08 May).

Mott The Hoople were recognized by Nordoff Robbins with the Tartan Clef Legend Award, in a ceremony on 27 Nov 2009 in Glasgow, Scotland. Ian Hunter, Mick Ralphs, Verden Allen, and Martin Chambers were there to receive the award, and performed two songs with Joe Elliott's Down n' Outz.

As part of the New Yorker Festival, Ian Hunter, Graham Parker, and Ben Greenman were featured at an event called Ian Hunter and Graham Parker talk with Ben Greenman: A Conversation with Music. This was a public discussion, followed by short live performances by Ian Hunter and Graham Parker. The show was held at October 17, 2009 at Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street, New York NY.

ConcertLive recorded Mott The Hoople's reunion show at the Hammersmith Apollo on 01 Oct 2010, and issued it as a three-disc live CD which was available on the night as well as from the ConcertLive website. The set features a two-disc live show, plus a third bonus CD of interviews and backstage phtos and video.

Ian Hunter appeared on National Public Radio's World Cafe radio show with host David Dye on 15 Oct 2009. The show was recorded over the summer and features and interview and music from Man Overboard. (Ian's segment appears during the second hour of the show).

Mott The Hoople at last confirmed long-standing rumors of a reunion. They played five shows at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London on 1,2,3,5 &6 October, 2009. This was the first time that the original lineup of Ian Hunter, Mick Ralphs, Verden Allen, Dale Griffin, and Overend Watts had performed in over 35 years. The group also played two warmup gigs at the Blake Theater in Monmouth, Wales on 25-26 September. Martin Chambers played drums for most of the set, with Buffin only joining in for the encores due to health reasons.

On 21 September, EMI Records in the UK issued a special edition of Ian Hunter's classic 1979 album You're Never Alone With a Schizophrenic. They marked the 30th Anniversary of this amazing album with a deluxe re-mastered package containing the original LP with bonus tracks plus an extra disc featuring unreleased live performances of the period.

Ian Hunter played a free outdoor concert at Rockefeller Park appear in New York City on 24 June 2009. The Rant Band featured Mark Bosch, Andy Burton, Steve Holley, and James Mastro. Joe Elliott of Def Leppard joined Ian for a verse or two of 'All The Young Dudes'.

Mott The Hoople were added to the Mojo Magazine Hall of Fame at the 2009 ceremony unveiling the Mojo Honours List, held at the Brewery in London on 11 June 2009. The band were inducted by Def Leppard vocalist Joe Elliott, one of the group's most prominent fans. In addition to Mott The Hoople, The Zombies' Odessey And Oracle took home the Classic Album Award, Phil Lynott received the Icon Award, and Yoko Ono received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The music scene of the late 50’s and early 60’s was vivid, vibrant and volatile. Relive those years with those who were there! The book contains many previously unseen photos of Ian Hunter from the 1950s, playing with The Apex and other local groups. For those outside Northampton, the book will be available on EBAY UK from 8 June 2009.
